SUnMaRC 2019

The Department of Mathematics is proud to host the 2019 Southwestern Undergraduate Mathematics Research Conference (SUnMaRC) March 29-31, 2019. This event brings students & faculty together for a weekend of Mathematics.


Tim Chartier will speak at this year’s Daniel Bartlett Memorial Lecture to be held on April 4, 2019 at 6:30pm in the ENR2 Building. We hope you will join us for this special annual event.

Anyone with an interest in Uncertainty Quanification is encouraged to join this workshop on April 10, 2019. Alex Gorodetsky (Michigan) will be the keynote speaker for this event.


Math Center staff member Nellie Rios received a College of Science Staff Advisory Council (CoSSAC) Star Award for March 2019. Congratulations and thank you for all that you do!

2018 Outstanding Senior

Congratulations to Hang Chen the Department of Mathematics Outstanding Senior for Fall 2018! He also received the Outstanding Senior Award for Computer Science this semester. Chen will graduate in December with a Bachelor of Science in both subjects. He plans to attend graduate school and obtain a PhD in Computer Science.


The Department congratulates our exceptional seniors Rajeev Ram, Robert Wallace, and Mark Dalthorp (left-right). Ram and Wallace are graduating with a 4.0 math major GPA and Dalthorp has received the Toubassi Prize Award.
